"What I do is about living.  It's about living the best life you can and enjoying the fullness of the life around you-from what you wear, to the way you live, to the way you love." Ralph Lauren

It is not a secret that interior design and fashion have been linked together for decades, if not centuries.  Both forms of creative expression, derived from some form of art have been the epicenter of trends and culture throughout the world.  In recent decades, fashion designers crossed over creating home collections that have refined interior design

Personally, I have loved the home collection of Ralph Lauren.  Ralph Lauren was one of the pioneers to cross over from fashion to home.  From wall coverings, and paint to the lush fabrics that mimic his clothing line to the detailed furniture collection, Ralph Lauren has exemplified what it means to bring fashion into your home.

If you haven’t been to the Ralph Lauren Flagship store in Chicago, then you really haven’t experienced the true spirit of Ralph Lauren.  Throughout the store, deep stained wood adorn the walls, ceilings and staircases.  There is a massive staircase in the center of the store, that has the most beautiful display of paintings and pictures that line every inch of the staircase.  My husband and I instantly feel in love with the masculinity of the store that gives off an English feel, but also as you climb each floor, there is a subtle essence of femininity.

As much as I love Chicago attractions, this is by far my favorite place to visit when I am there.   I also have to mention Ralph Lauren has a fabulous and delicious restaurant in Chicago as well.  Shopping + eating = one happy girl.  Ralph, you really know what you are doing.

One of my favorite coffee table books is this Ralph Lauren Book.

I am going to end the post by mentioning that today is Kellie’s birthday.  She influenced me to write this post, because not only can she make a home beautiful but she also has a keen eye for fashion...watch out world.   Kellie received a fabulous birthday gift that I just had to share: a vintage Chanel purse from her birth year!  We had a lot of fun styling it and incorporating the gorgeous Chanel purse into home décor.
